The Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) will conduct its Annual Internal Program Quality Assessment from 5th March to 15th March, 2026, as part of its ongoing commitment to quality, accountability, and continuous learning. The assessment will serve as a structured internal process to review programme design, implementation, and impact across all thematic areas.
This annual exercise reflects YCDA’s belief that strong systems, reflective practice, and evidence-based learning are essential for delivering meaningful and sustainable outcomes for communities.
Purpose and Approach
The Internal Program Quality Assessment will focus on evaluating the effectiveness, relevance, and inclusiveness of YCDA’s programmes related to youth leadership, meaningful participation, climate resilience, livelihoods, child rights, and community well-being. The assessment will examine how programmes align with organizational values, strategic priorities, and community needs.
Using participatory and learning-oriented methods, the assessment will involve programme teams, field staff, and management. Tools such as document reviews, field reflections, team discussions, and outcome mapping will be used to identify strengths, gaps, and areas for improvement.
Learning, Reflection, and Improvement
The assessment period will provide space for critical reflection on programme processes, partnerships, monitoring systems, and community engagement strategies. Emphasis will be placed on understanding how effectively programmes are fostering community ownership, strengthening resilience, and ensuring meaningful participation of children and youth.
Findings from the assessment will be used to refine programme strategies, improve operational practices, and enhance overall programme quality. The process will also contribute to strengthening internal accountability and shared learning across teams.
Moving Forward with Stronger Systems
The Annual Internal Program Quality Assessment will culminate in consolidated learnings and actionable recommendations to guide planning and implementation for the coming year. By systematically reviewing its work, YCDA aims to reinforce a culture of quality, transparency, and continuous improvement.
The assessment scheduled from 5th March to 15th March, 2026, is not only an internal review mechanism but also a reaffirmation of YCDA’s commitment to delivering high-quality, inclusive, and impactful development interventions for communities.
