Ms. Subhrata Jena is a committed development professional with a postgraduate degree in Human Resource and Finance Management. She currently works as the Senior Program Manager at the Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA). With over 18 years of experience in the areas of child rights, child protection, education and community development, she has made significant contributions to improving the lives of vulnerable children. At YCDA, she also serves as the Child Protection Officer, leading non-institutional and alternative family-based care programs. These programs focus on placing vulnerable children in safe and caring families through kinship care and foster care in the Boudh and Balangir districts ensuring that children grow up in a nurturing family environment, rather than in institutional settings. Subhrata works closely with government officials, local communities, and the child protection workforce to strengthen child protection systems in Odisha. She also represents YCDA in various district-level committees, including the District Inspection Committee, Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee, and the Internal Complaints Committee addressing sexual harassment of women at the workplace or institutions. Her efforts continue to play a vital role in building a safer and more supportive environment for children in the families through parenting skills and family strengthening programs.

Ganesh Kumar Sahoo is a development professional with over ten years of experience in community mobilization, child rights, education, and sustainable livelihoods. He currently works as Program Manager for the Agriculture Production Cluster (APC) project at YCDA, leading efforts to sustainably double the income of small and marginal women farmers through improved agriculture practices, collectivization, and market linkages. Skilled in project planning, data management, capacity building, and government convergence, he is committed to strengthening community-led development. He holds BA BEd. and Master’s in Social Work.

Debjit Mukherjee is currently working as Project Officer – Earning and Finance with the FFVDP Project at YCDA, Tikarpada GP, Boudh District. He holds a B.Tech in Agriculture, with expertise in farm machinery, smart farming, precision agriculture, and sustainable crop production systems. With over two years of experience in the social sector, he has contributed to agriculture and livelihood development initiatives and previously served as a Subject Matter Specialist under the APC project, providing technical support through field demonstrations, trainings, and capacity-building programs. His skills include drone technology, Python programming, modern farming technologies, hydroponics, aeroponics, and mushroom cultivation. In his current role, he focuses on agriculture-based livelihood development, earning and finance planning, SHG convergence through government schemes, and entrepreneurship promotion to strengthen sustainable rural livelihoods.

He holds a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Utkal University (NIIS Institution) and has over five years of professional experience with YCDA (Youth Council for Development Alternative). He demonstrates strong leadership skills and has extensive experience in community-based organization (CBO) development, child rights promotion, youth and adolescent development, Village Development Committee strengthening, and community mental health and development programs.

I am Sasmita Bal, Program Manager – APC, Chhendipada Block, Angul. I hold a Master of Science in Horticulture and a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, which have provided me with a strong foundation in crop science and modern propagation techniques.

My professional journey includes significant experience in Banana Tissue Culture at the Regional Plant Resource Centre (RPRC), where I developed expertise in micropropagation methods and laboratory protocols.

Currently, I serve as a Program Manager at YCDA (APC) in Chhendipada, Angul, where I apply my technical knowledge to lead and implement impactful agricultural programs. Beyond my professional responsibilities, I am passionate about creating and nurturing green spaces through gardening.
