The Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) will organize its Annual Retreat Celebration on 11th and 12th March, 2026, bringing together the YCDA team for two days of reflection, learning, and collective planning. The retreat will serve as an important institutional space to review progress, strengthen team cohesion, and realign efforts towards YCDA’s shared vision for inclusive and sustainable development.
The Annual Retreat is a key moment in YCDA’s annual calendar, providing an opportunity to pause from routine work, reflect on experiences from the field, and celebrate the collective journey of the organization. It reinforces YCDA’s belief that strong teams, shared values, and reflective practice are essential for meaningful community impact.
A Space for Reflection and Learning
The two-day retreat will focus on reviewing programmatic achievements, challenges, and lessons learned over the past year. Through structured reflection sessions, group discussions, and participatory exercises, staff members will engage in honest dialogue on what has worked well and where improvements are needed.
Special attention will be given to strengthening alignment across programmes related to youth leadership, meaningful participation, climate resilience, livelihoods, and community well-being. The retreat will also create space for individual and team reflections, enabling staff to share experiences, insights, and innovative ideas emerging from their work with communities.
Strengthening Team Spirit and Collective Vision
Beyond reflection, the Annual Retreat will emphasize team bonding and organizational culture. Interactive activities will promote trust, collaboration, and mutual appreciation among team members, reinforcing the spirit of togetherness that defines YCDA’s way of working.
The retreat will acknowledge the dedication and contributions of staff members, recognizing their role in translating YCDA’s values into action on the ground. By fostering open communication and shared ownership, the retreat aims to strengthen internal coordination and motivation for the year ahead.
Looking Ahead with Renewed Commitment
The Annual Retreat Celebration will also focus on future planning and strategic direction. Sessions will explore priorities for the coming year, with a strong emphasis on quality, innovation, accountability, and impact. Staff will collectively reflect on how YCDA can further strengthen resilience-building efforts, deepen meaningful youth participation, and enhance community-led development approaches.
As YCDA continues its journey, the Annual Retreat of March 11–12, 2026 will stand as a reaffirmation of the organization’s commitment to learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement. It is not only a moment to look back at achievements but also an opportunity to move forward with renewed clarity, energy, and shared purpose in serving communities more effectively.
