Integrated Micro- Finance & Sustainable Livelihood

Introduction

YCDA in partnership with different agencies has initiated Self Help approach to address different social and livelihood issues of the marginalized community in some pockets of Boudh and Bolangir districts .To make people self sustained  and empowered  emphasis has been given on  vegetable cultivation, paddy cultivation, pulses & oil seed cultivation and adopting appropriate technology. In project area SHG, Federation and cooperative has been formed and strengthened. Cooperative members are getting opportunity to enhance their socio-economic and sustainable livelihood through various entrepreneurship and micro-credit linkages. Syngenta Foundation, India &Madhyam Foundation, BBSR are the supporting partners of the programme .

Major thrust of the programme is   Sustainable Socio Economic development of targeted community through capacity building of stakeholders, proper utilization of natural resources and financial support system

Target community

The programme is designed to support women ,small &marginalized farmers belongs to SCs/STs and other Socially and economically backward communities of 17 Gram Panchayats of Boudh and Bolangir district

Objectives

The programme objective is to enhance socio-economic condition of the poor women, backward & marginal families.....

  • By helping them to achieve higher agricultural production (with small land holding family as priority) following improved methods and introducing appropriate technologies;
  • Through  land and water management .
  • By introduction of new non-farm occupations based on the locally available natural resources.
  • By regulating grazing and sustainable management of pastures, fodder production and health care of the domestic animals.
  • By enhancing  the socio-eco-awareness level of the people & facilitate their interaction with Govt. bodies and micro representative bodies so that they become capable of availing Govt. programmes & exercise their civic rights.
  • By empowering women community .

  • Orientation on small micro enterprise activities
  • Orientation and technical support to farmers on sustainable livelihood practices
  • Convergence and linkages with Govt. department
  •  Installation of Management Information System (MIS)
  • Demonstration  on  Poly House
  • Promote community managed agro clinic and Information center.  
  • Identification and addressing different social issues and linkages with line department
