INTRODUCTION

Youth Council for Development Alternatives (YCDA) a Non - Government Organization established in the year 1993 with the objective to bring sustainable change in the socio-economic condition of disadvantaged and oppressed masses in the community with a group of experienced and trained social workers on different subjects. The head office of the organization is situated at village Baunsuni of Boudh district; Orissa and all organizational affairs are being carried out from the head office itself. For the smooth management of the programmes cluster offices and project offices are set up at field level.

The major thrust of the organization is to initiate field-based intervention focusing on the issues of primary education, community health care and livelihood support system. In macro level, networking with like-minded groups, organizing training, workshops to highlight various issues and undertake advocacy measures are the key interventions.

    2. To empower children to feel safe and protected from discrimination, maltreatment, neglect and any forms of abuse.
    3. To strengthen families that will enable children and young people to grow in a safe, secure and economically stable community

     

  • Strategy

    • Direct action: Work with children and young people and vulnerable families in the community
    • Strengthen community based system and groups:  Work with Panchayat Raj Institutions; Self Help Groups; School Management Committees (SMC), Village Child Protection Committees (VCPC), Children’s Clubs, Youth Clubs and Farmers club
    • Lobby and policy influencing: Focus on translate policies in to action, lobby for pro peoples policy and influence good governance and strengthen various statutory bodies at Village, District and State.

     

Upcoming Events

  • OrganiseDaanUtsav (Joy of Giving) programmein Boudh, Balangir and Bhubaneswar in collaboration with various agencies.
  • Organise two days training for Childline and other NGOs working on Children’s issue on Sexual Offenses Against Children at Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Aarambh Initiative, India.
  • Facilitate Group Foster Care launching workshop in Boudh in collaboration with DCPU.
  • Organise World Teachers Exposure conference in Boudh/Baunsuni during 14th to 25th September.
  • Organise District level Children’s Festival in Baunsuni, Boudh in the month of November during Child Rights week
  • District level Child protection workshop with various stakeholders to track the progress under Integrated Child Protection Project (ICPP)
  • Training to Panchayat Members ( Sarapanch, SamitiSabhya and Word members ) of Boudh district in collaboration with SIRD, Bhubaneswar.
  • Organise GP level Migration Resource Centre in selected Gram Panchayat of Khariar block, Nuapada GP.
  • Organise Training programme for Partner NGOs on Good parenting skills.
  • Organise World mental health day in Boudh block with Family Support Group.
